With Tom & Jerry, the company promises an uproarious evening packed with misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and nonstop comedic chaos.

Paritosh Painter, widely regarded as one of India’s most consistent creators of commercial comedy across theatre, television, and cinema, once again taps into the classic farce format that has defined much of his work. With acclaimed films like Dhamaal and Paying Guest, and hit stage productions such as Whose Wife Is It Anyway?, See No Evil Hear No Evil, and Get Rid of My Wife, Painter brings his signature style of rapid-fire humour and situational absurdity to this latest offering.

Tom & Jerry is positioned as a modern-day farce that thrives on one simple yet explosive premise: a harmless lie that spirals completely out of control.

A Lie That Sparks Absolute Chaos

The story unfolds in a stylish Mumbai home and revolves around Aditya, a charming but careless bachelor who tells a small lie to his London-based elder brother, Tom Bhaiyya, claiming that he is happily married. The situation escalates rapidly when Tom Bhaiyya decides to visit unexpectedly, pushing Aditya into panic mode.

A riot of improvisation and deception follows. Aditya ropes in his eccentric best friend Jerry and Jerry’s fiery wife Shalu to maintain the illusion. As the situation unravels, characters swap identities, misrepresent relationships, and create fictional family members on the fly. The narrative introduces a maid as a wife, blurs reality with fabrication, and forces every character to juggle increasingly outrageous lies.

This fast-paced comedy of errors emerges as truth becomes the hardest thing for everyone to manage.

A Star-Studded Cast Elevates the Comedy

he powerhouse ensemble cast features Ali Asgar, Aasif Sheikh (famous for Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai), Shilpa Shinde, and several other seasoned performers from Indian television and theatre, adding to the excitement.

Delhi Premiere at Kamani Auditorium

The play will have its Delhi premiere on 20th and 21st June 2026 at Kamani Auditorium.
