After successful runs across Europe and the USA, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience has officially debuted in Southeast Asia, opening in Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), B1 Forum. This innovative 360-degree digital art exhibition is organized by H&B in partnership with Exhibition Hub, Fever, and RWS, offering visitors a unique way to experience Van Gogh’s world.
Michael Lee, CEO of H&B, said, “Our goal is to share the beauty of art in various forms with Singapore, from sculptures and paintings to immersive digital experiences. We are thrilled to debut Van Gogh in partnership with RWS, Exhibition Hub, and Fever.”
Central Projection Space and Galleries Galore
Spread across 17,000 square feet, the exhibition immerses guests in over 300 sketches, drawings, and paintings by Vincent Van Gogh. Visitors can explore individual galleries and a central projection space where floor-to-ceiling digital projections create a mesmerizing, fully immersive environment.
Scott Peterson, Vice President of Lifestyle at RWS, shared, “Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience enhances RWS’ appeal as a world-class destination. Hosting this exhibition demonstrates our commitment to offering unique lifestyle experiences for guests visiting Singapore and beyond.”
This Singapore edition features two world-first segments:
- Japanese Woodblock Art: Showcasing the influence of traditional Japanese woodblock printing (Japonisme) on Van Gogh’s work, including masterpieces like Geisha.
- Matcha Tea Ceremony: Guests experience authentic Japanese hospitality and art through a traditional matcha tea ceremony, a first worldwide for this exhibition.
A one-of-a-kind Virtual Reality (VR) experience allows visitors to explore “A Day in the Life of the Artist”. This helps reveal the inspiration behind Van Gogh’s iconic works. One of his most iconic works being Vincent’s Bedroom at Arles and Starry Night Over the Rhone River.
In the interactive drawing studio, visitors can create their own art inspired by Van Gogh. And, then transform it into larger-than-life digital projections for exclusive photo backdrops.
Some More Attractions
Additional attractions include a thematic cafe offering Janice Wong’s pastries, exclusive exhibition merchandise. Also included are art jamming sessions, signature yoga classes, designed for all ages.
Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience in Singapore delivers a multi-sensory journey. It blends art, culture, and technology. And, thus gives visitors a deeper appreciation of Van Gogh’s genius in a transcendent environment.
