Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi celebrated the 117th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The event was presided by Shri Anil Shastri, son of Lal Bahadur Shastri and former Union Minister & Chairman, LBSIM. Ghazal singer Padma Shri Pankaj Udhas too graced the occasion and presented a number of his Ghazals.
Anil Shastri paid floral tributes to Shastriji, saying his courageous sacrifice ignited the spark of patriotism among countless people and he lives in the heart of every Indian. While remembering the simplicity of the former Prime Minister, he said Shastri ji is always known for following the ideology of a stronger nation. He also gave the all-time slogan of “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” which ignites the patriotism in the hearts of Indians till today.
Institute Director Dr Praveen Gupta presented a vote of thanks on the occasion paying floral tributes to Shastri ji’s simplicity. “He lived his life not for wealth and prosperity but for his ideals,” he said.
Others present at the event were Chief Administration Officer Col Ajay Sood and other member of the faculty and staff.
