Plastic surgery is not the only solution for improving skin appearance, addressing signs of aging, and tackling various skin concerns. Several non-invasive treatments can enhance skin health and appearance, often delivering remarkable results in a shorter time. Procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, and laser therapy are increasingly popular for their ability to smooth lines, minimize wrinkles, and treat discoloration and acne scars, all without causing pain.
However, knowledge about skincare treatments remains limited, even among younger people in our country, leading many to believe common misconceptions. These treatments should be supervised by certified dermatologists to avoid poor results caused by a lack of scientific understanding. Many individuals are also uncertain about which treatment is best for them.

What is Botox and Micro Botox?
Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a medication used to temporarily smooth facial wrinkles and lines. It is injected directly into specific facial muscles, helpingย to correct wrinkles and folds around the sides of the mouth, forehead and eyes.ย
Botox injections have gained popularity, with variations like Micro Botox and Baby Botox. This treatment smooths the skin and minimizes the appearance of facial pits and it is relatively affordable. Results usually last between three to four months, with treatments recommended every 3 to 6 months. For Micro Botox, re-treatment every three months helps sustain its effectiveness.
Variations in the amount of Botox injected can lead to facial imbalances, such as one eye having wrinkles while the other side appears smooth. Some pain at the injection site is normal but typically subsides quickly. Minor cuts and bruises may occur, but they are not cause for concern. Headaches can also be a temporary side effect. Botox should be avoided by individuals with nerve or muscle disorders, those allergic to botulinum toxin and those with skin infections.

Dermal Fillers
In simple terms, dermal filler treatment involves injecting a gel-like substance beneath the skin. It is commonly used to reduce visible signs of aging on the face, as well as to enhance the size and appearance of the cheeks, lips, and hollows. Folds and dimples on the face are smoothed out, with noticeable results seen right away.
Substances like hyaluronic acid that are naturally found in our skin are injected. Over time our skin absorbs these. After 6-8 months, fillers will need to be used again. Most people use dermal fillers once a year.
Mild bleeding, redness, and bruising can occur during the injection process. In rare cases, infections or lumps may form under the skin. Those with severe allergies should refrain from using dermal fillers.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a treatment for various skin issues, including acne, dark spots, wrinkles, rashes, sun damage, and discoloration. They are typically applied to the face, neck, and hands. The treatment involves using a chemical that is tailored to an individual’s skin type, with common options including glycolic acid and salicylic acid.
After chemical peels are used, the outermost layer of skin is gradually sloughed off and replaced by a new layer of skin that is soft, beautiful and youthful without wrinkles and lines.ย Almostย all pre-existing skin disorders can be reversed. Effectiveness and recovery time will vary depending on the severity of the chemical used. The more severe the changes, the more noticeable the changes will be, but it will take longer for the skin to fully recover.
Post-treatment care is essential after using chemical peels, as the skin becomes highly sensitive. It’s important to avoid sun exposure to prevent discoloration or other issues. Many people opt for chemical peels during the winter to minimize these risks. Individuals with sensitive skin should avoid this treatment, and those with unusual scarring should consult a doctor beforehand.

Carbon Laser Peel
A carbon laser peel involves applying a thin layer of carbon lotion to the skin, which is then vaporized by a laser. The laser eliminates both the carbon and skin impurities, aiding in the reduction of acne, smoothing of pits, and improvement of discoloration. Carbon laser peels are particularly effective in minimizing acne scars and controlling oily skin. Regular treatments stimulate collagen production, which can also help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. This treatment delivers immediate results and is also referred to as the Hollywood Peel or China Doll Peel.
People with sensitive skin may experience red bumps or light flaking on the skin. Carbon laser peels can be started after adolescence and into adulthood. Four to six sessions are usually required. There is a gap of 3-4 weeks between each session. After the first two sessions, you will notice a significant difference in your skin.

Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal/reduction is the method of hair removal using lasers. Melanin is eliminated by hitting lasers directly at the root of the hair follicle. After a few sessions, hair growth stops completely in that area. It also painlessly destroys ingrown hairs. Usually, 8-10 sessions are required.
The laser only targets the hair without affecting the surrounding skin. Burns can occur if the laser is not aimed accurately. Side effects like redness and discoloration are also possible. These will heal within a few days or weeks. It is less effective in people with grey hair.

Microblading
A microblading treatment used to enhance the beauty of eyebrows can be said to be equivalent to a tattoo that provides long lasting results. Using ultra-fine needles, hair-like dyes are deposited into the skin of the eyebrow area. Eyebrows will thicken and take on a natural look. It lasts from one year to three years depending on the nature of each person’s skin. This treatment is very useful for those who do not have sufficient thickness of eyebrows.
Microblading typically has minimal side effects. However, during the first 1 to 3 weeks, proper aftercare is essential. Eyebrows should be kept away from sun exposure and moisture until fully healed. Failing to follow proper care instructions can increase the risk of infection.

HydraFacialย
A hydra facial is a treatment that uses medical devices to cleanse, remove impurities and increase hydration. HydraFacialโ€™s are in demand because they produce significant changes in the skin in just one session. HydraFacial helps to remove wrinkles, lines, dark spots and acne on the face and remove impurities that are clogged in the pores of the skin. Suitable for all skin types. Immediately leaves the skin feeling bright, refreshed and comfortable. It is also less expensive than other treatments.
A HydraFacial is a boon for those who want a quick glow before a special day like a wedding. The serum used for facials should be of good quality. Rarely, some people are allergic to the serum. People with severe acne and skin conditions like rosacea should consult a doctor before a HydraFacial.
