A 10,000-year-old Trident and a 3,000-year-old Vajra were unveiled today by researcher and businessman Syed Shameer Hussain. As per him, this centuries-old Trident (Trishul) belongs to Lord Shiva, and Vajra is the weapon of Indra, popularly known as the God of Rain and Storms in Hinduism. The trishul is better known as Lord Shiva’s trident, while the vajra is Indra’s thunderbolt. Shiva’s place in Indian heritage is also seen in the story of the Somnath temple. .Here is what researcher Syed Shameer Hussain says about the Trishul and Vajra found in the Philippines.

Researcher and businessman Syed Shameer Hussain says a trident (trishul) and a vajra were found at a mining site in the Philippines in May 2015. He links them to Shiva and Indra and puts their ages at about 10,000 and 3,000 years. The ages are his own estimates, and the coverage cites no scientific dating.

Trishul and Vajra Found in the Philippines: What Hussain Says

At a Press Conference early today, Hussain said that the Trident and Vajra were found during mining in the Philippines in May 2015. Associated with copper ore and gold mining in the Philippines since 2012, Hussain has been working closely with the local residents.

“On May 5, 2015, the labour supervisor summoned me to the mining site after finding something unusual. I was quite surprised to see antiquities like the Trident and Vajra in the Philippines – I recognised these antiquities as Lord Shiva’s Trishul and Indra’s Vajra. I brought these antiquities to India in 2016 and began my research into it,” he said. The vajra, often described as Indra’s thunderbolt, is also a key symbol in Buddhist ritual.

Eight Years of Research and the Cultural Link

“I spent almost eight years trying to understand things. After a lot of research and discussion, I reached the conclusion that these are not just antiquities but are clearly associated with the roots of centuries-old Indian civilisation and culture,” he said, adding that he also discussed with archaeologists to ascertain the authenticity of thousands of years-old antiquities and came to the conclusion that the 10,000-year-old Trident directly belongs to Lord Shiva and the 3,000-year-old Vajra is the weapon used by Lord Indra. Confirming an object’s age and origin usually needs archaeological verification, such as scientific dating and excavation records.Whatever their origin, the objects have drawn interest because of their link to Indian heritage.Until scientific dating and archaeological verification are reported, the age and origin of the Trishul and Vajra found in the Philippines remain Hussain’s claim.
