Are you often worried about the authenticity of the product you are buying? Do you want to find out if the product you have bought is genuine and not a duplicate, a fake product!
Well, don’t worry. You can do that! Simply download the app LetsVeriFy on you smart phone. And scan the label of a product you want to check out.
Created with an aim to check counterfeiting, LetsVeriFy is an innovative and cutting-edge application by software company ThinkCurve. A brand protection solution based on secure smart lables, it empowers the end-users to check the authenticity of a product using a smartphone with utmost ease.
“Future without Fakes is our mantra,” says Yogesh Sharma, co-founder and CEO of ThinkCurve. “The market is flooded with imitations that look uncannily similar to popular brand name, but using technology, brand loyal and brand conscious customers can differentiate the real thing from the fake with ease,” he says.
“The problem of counterfeit products has been there for a long time in market despite a lot of checks like Holograms and Barcodes. The system has several loopholes which causes a great deal of financial loss, harms the reputation of the brands and also ends up hurting our country’s economy. That the reason we came up with this app,” says Anshu Bansal, co-founder of the company.
As of now the app is quite popular among buyers of protein supplements and sports equipment. It is also being welcomed by companies in the verticals like FMCG, electrical and electronics, fashion, automobiles, cosmetics etc.
“In case of edible products there could be a health hazard which is one of the worst things for a brand to sustain in the market. Our app can minimise this loss entirely,” he adds.
Not just consumers, the app is very beneficial to manufacturers as well as it is possible solution to ensure proper safety for them so that they can provide an assurance to their consumers of buying their genuine products.
“Counterfeiting is there in every domain. It is a social problem and the responsibility for checking this lies with the manufacturer,” says Sharma. “We are encouraging all manufacturers and retailers to come on board to protect themselves and their customers,” he adds.
“It has just been a year since we launched our app, and we already have many companies on onboard with us, including SS Cricket, BigMuscles Nutrition, Babolat, Advance Nutratech, MuscleEffect,” says Bansal.
Talks are on with manufacturers of other domains like cosmetics, pharma, home appliances, automobiles. “The reason we trying to rope in these domains is because duplicacy in these products can be life-threatening for a consumer,” says Sharma
“Another arena wherein there is rampant sale of duplicate products is garments. We are customising solutions for garment industry as our labels cannot be applied on the clothes,” he adds.
LetsVeriFy is available as a free smartphone app for iPhone/iPad and Android devices.
