Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake, the hilltop Chauth Ka Barwara Temple, and the majestic Aravalli Range. The expansive fort परिसर also houses two original palaces and two temples, preserving its historic essence.

The Legacy of Fort Barwara
Originally built in the 14th century by the Chauhans near the Banas River, Fort Barwara served as a strategic outpost. Over centuries, it witnessed the rule of various dynasties.
- In 1451, Maharaja Bheem Singh Chauhan constructed the Chauth Bhawani Temple atop a hill.
- In 1734, the Rajawat dynasty took control of the fort.
- Later, Raja Man Singh of Barwara earned the title Rao Bahadur from the British after his service in World War II.
Today, the restored fort stands as a symbol of Rajasthan’s rich history, architecture, and cultural heritage.
Spiritual Significance: The Legend of Chauth Mata

The nearby Chauth Mata Temple holds deep spiritual importance and carries rich folklore. According to legend, the goddess appeared in the dreams of Raja Bheem Singh and later revealed her idol in the forest, prompting the king to establish the temple as a pilgrimage site.
Even today devotees believe worshipping Chauth Mata ensures longevity and well-being. During Karva Chauth, organisers hold a grand fair that attracts pilgrims and tourists alike.
