Marking World Laughter Day, Penguin Random House India, in association with the Delhi Laughter Club, hosted the launch of Dr Kataria’s book Laughter Yoga at Tecnia Auditorium in Rohini, Delhi.
The book offers a comprehensive guide to understanding what Laughter Yoga is, how it works, and how it can be incorporated into everyday life. It serves as both a practical manual and a philosophy for healthier living.
What is Laughter Yoga?
Laughter Yoga is a simple yet profound practice that combines voluntary laughter with yogic breathing techniques. Interestingly, scientific research shows that the body cannot distinguish between real and intentional laughter—both deliver the same physiological and psychological benefits.
This makes Laughter Yoga an accessible and effective wellness practice for people of all ages.

Since its inception in 1995, the Laughter Yoga movement has spread to more than 100 countries, with thousands of free social Laughter Clubs bringing communities together.
In India alone, over 2.5 lakh people actively participate in laughter sessions, making it one of the most vibrant wellness movements in the country.
Every first Sunday of May, people across the world gather in parks and public spaces to celebrate World Laughter Day—laughing together for peace, health, and happiness.
