Kiran Bedi removed as Puducherry governor

A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique has stated that Kiran Bedi has been removed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. The governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan will hold additional charge of the Union Territory, it said. The removal of Bedi comes as the Union Territory has been witnessing political turmoil with a number of Congress legislators leaving the party in quick succession.
