Today, amusement parks are not just about rides and fun games but have evolved as tourist destinations with exhibits, F&B options, retail outlets and quality accommodation. India is home to over 160-plus amusement parks with over three crore visitors every year. While children and youth, arriving with families or in school groups, constitute 50 per cent of park visitors, adults are the remaining half.

Beginning February 26, Mumbai will host the 20th IAAPI Amusement Expo 2020 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO Compound, Goregaon East, Mumbai. The Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) is an apex body representing the interests of amusement parks, theme parks, water parks and family entertainment centres in the country. The three-day exhibition, supported by Ministry of Tourism – under the banner of Incredible India, will be inaugurated by International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) chairman Amanda Thompson who is also the managing director, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Sohansinh Jadeja, President, IAAPI, along with other office-bearers.

IAAPI’s 20th Amusement Expo is the biggest B2B exhibition on sourcing for amusement, leisure and recreation industry, bringing a comprehensive range of products and services offered by the industry under one roof. It provides an opportunity to interact with the end users. Apart from business transactions, the show provides an exposure to 175+ (105 international) exhibitors, from 20 countries, with 80,0000 sq ft of space, showcasing the latest trends and developments in the industry.

The exhibitors will display equipment, products and services for amusement and theme park, water park, and indoor amusement centres with focus on adventure sports, playground equipment, admission system, automation animation and visual effects, food and beverage, safety, security and more. The exhibition will attract trade professionals comprising of decision-makers from amusement industry, park and IAC operators, architects, resorts and hotel chains, government officials, real estate and mall developer, municipal and local authorities, consultants, museums and science centres, historic/ tourism attractions.
