The International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on June 21, since its inception in 2015. The day was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on December 11, 2014.
Yoga is not a religion; it is a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body. It helps promote a balanced development of physical, mental and spiritual health of a person while other forms of physical exercises, like aerobics, assure only physical well-being.
Yogic techniques are known to improve one’s overall performance. Pranayama, which most people do, is an important, yet little known part of the whole.
