The Ministry of Textiles has come up with an E-Commerce portal, indiahandmade.com, for handicrafts and handloom sector. The portal, launched by Union Minister of Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, offers products from more than 35 lakh handloom weavers and 27 lakh handicraft artisans directly to the consumers. The portal promises to be a one-stop-shop for all things handmade in India and a great way to discover and support Indian artisans and their crafts.

The virtual store, which completely eliminates the middlemen, will help artisans get complete price of their product without any cuts. Customers too stand to gain as they get access to genuinely authentic and best handcrafts products coming straight from the artisans. Additionally, it also provides an opportunity to weavers and artisans become future e-entrepreneurs.

The portal offers a wide range of products, including clothing, home decor, jewellery, accessories, among others showcasing India’s diverse cultural heritage.
