Deyga: From Teen Skincare Struggles to Natural Skincare Products

Taruna Sharma

Arthi Raguram began experimenting with natural remedies as a teenager to treat acne and sensitive skin. Inspired by the results, she launched Deyga in 2018. Today, the brand offers a wide range of natural skincare products, including lip balms, skin serums, hair packs, baby soaps, and more.

“I source tea tree oil from Australia, shea butter from Ghana, and argan oil from Morocco. We also work with 60 farmers across India and grow aloe vera and coconut on our farm,” says Arthi.

The Birth of Deyga

Arthi’s personal skin struggles inspired her to explore natural therapies. Conventional skincare products often failed to deliver results, prompting her to create organic and chemical-free skincare solutions. Deyga combines traditional processes with modern needs.

The brand uses Ayurveda-inspired principles, handcrafting products in copper and brass vessels, ensuring purity and quality.

Challenges Along the Way

Building Deyga was not easy. “Creating a team that understands organic, fragrance-free, and sustainable skincare was a challenge. Many employees were unfamiliar with these concepts initially,” Arthi explains.

Entering the skincare market alongside established brands was difficult. Educating consumers about the benefits of natural ingredients and justifying slightly higher prices also posed challenges.

Why Natural Skincare?

Arthi believes in the power of natural ingredients. Harsh chemicals can damage skin, while organic products nurture it. “Natural ingredients connect us to the raw purity of nature and provide long-lasting results,” she says.

Deyga promotes sustainability, environmental responsibility, and health-friendly practices in all its products.

What Makes Deyga Unique

Unlike other products, Deyga delivers visible results without harsh effects. The products are handmade, eco-friendly, and suitable for all skin types.

  • Soaps and face packs for daily skincare
  • Lip balms and serums for hydration and nourishment
  • Hair packs and baby products for safe, natural care

Prices range from Rs 250–1100, making organic skincare affordable and accessible.

The Future of Skincare in India

Arthi observes a shift in consumer behavior. People are increasingly aware of ingredients and prefer eco-friendly, chemical-free skincare. Brands are now adopting sustainable practices and educating consumers about organic options.

“People want skincare that is safe, natural, and long-lasting. That is the niche we continue to fill,” she adds.
