Kalaakari with flowers
Pure Ghee designs, a sustainable accessory brand inspired by the colours and textiles of India, recently launched its signature collection for this festive season. The collection has been aptly named – ‘Phool kaari’ and is an ode to flowers. Wearing flowers is an integral part of getting dressed up especially in India. Flowers are widely considered to be a symbol of love and prosperity. There is no better way to embellish a celebration be it a festival or special occasion like weddings than with flowers.
The Phool Kaari collection exudes the richness of the Indian tradition of festivals as well as shringar revisiting all the flowers we have recreated with fabric through our journey.
Using textile flowers for embellishment has been part of the Pure Ghee design DNA. This collection brings this floral theme upfront and celebrates the essence of the brand. The signature Pure Ghee textile flowers come together in this collection across home accessories, bags and potlis as well as jewellery and gajras. These flowers are completely handcrafted from locally sourced fabric by Pure Ghee’s women artisans at its studio in Ayanagar, New Delhi.
The Phool Kaari collection includes:
Marigold Toran Tying of mango leaves is considered auspicious during festivals, especially Diwali. The mango leaves and marigold flowers of this toran are each handmade from cloth. They are eco-friendly and look good for a long time.
