To give artists an opportunity to showcase their craft as also develop a taste for art and culture among the denizens of the National Capital,  a first-of-its-kind initiative scheme – Street Theatre and Performing Arts Fellowship – has been launched. The scheme will not only be means of livelihood to the artists but will work as a facilitator to empower them.

Started by the Sahitya Kala Parishad under the Department of Arts, Culture and Languages, the flagship scheme will have cultural presentation of over 450 artist(e)s from theatre, music, dance and fine arts which have already been selected for this fellowship. Another 500 will be added to the roster in future. The selected artist(e)s will perform in a team of 10 every week at different public places in Delhi.
