For those of you who are unaware who an otolaryngologist is, here’s the definition: An otolaryngologist is a physician trained in the medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat (ENT) and related structures of the head and neck.

Imaging for Otolaryngologists has been prepared by renowned otolaryngologist Erwin A Dunnebier and reviewed and supplemented by expert radiologists. The book covers all the aspects of otolaryngologic imaging with particular emphasis on anatomy, common diagnoses and the choice of imaging modalities. The central focus of Imaging for Otolaryngologists is on interpretation of images which includes disease-specific characteristics, the features necessary for successful diagnosis and the implications for surgery.

The text is divided into four sections which takes a reader through the temporal bone, skull base, sinonasal complex and neck structure. Each section is structured consistently for easy reading and the presentation of each disease follows a standardised layout with concise explanatory text on potential differential diagnoses and points of evaluation.

Each of the 465 high quality images have been clearly labelled and appropriate comparisons between MR images and CT have been done wherever necessary to show complementary functions and limitations.
