Aimed at helping people to better manage their mental health during Covid-19 lockdown, the Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare has published a free e-reader kindle book, Don’t worry! Here’s how you can keep your mind fit during a pandemic. Conceptualised by Dr Samir Parikh, Director of the Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences and his team members – Kamna Chibber and Mimansa Singh, with contributions from Divya Singh and Nishtha Narula – the book helps people pick up quick tips to handle psycho-social challenges they are facing as a result of the lockdown.
“We are facing an unprecedented situation. There will be feelings of stress, anxiety, isolation, depression and fear. However, what we need to realise is that this is just a phase and will pass. The book has been published in association with Rupa Publications. It is a simple read, providing people with the inputs on routine management, allowing people to pick up those tips which resonate with them the most. Our objective is to help people stay motivated and hopeful, to adjust to staying at home and make the most of the situation. Those who have previously never worked from home and those who are used to getting out every day should not feel overwhelmed. We are here to help,” said Dr Parikh.
