Single Indians want more serious, meaningful relationships in 2021

Ahead of Valentineโs Day, a recent nationwide survey by Bumble, the women-first social networking app, revealedย one in threeย (38%) single Indiansย hope to see themselves in aย committed relationship in 2021.ย The study also showed thatย one in fiveย (22%) single Indiansย hope to get marriedย in 2021.
As India unlocks lifting restrictions across states, single Indians are also ready to get moving to meet someone in-person who they met online. While almost 73% of single Indians indicate they are ready to travel a couple of hours within their city for an in-person with someone they met online, 19% of people claim they are willing to travel to another city for an in-person date.ย Pune has the highest numberย of single Indians (37%) ready to travel within the city to meet someone in-person,ย followed by Kolkataย (33%) andย Chennaiย (32%).
For an IRL date, single Indians want to ensure safety protocols of using masks and hand sanitizers. 64% of single Indians claim that before their in-person date, they will also check in on their partnerโs health status.
The research was conducted by YouGov between December 2 and December 10, 2020.
