Metro Man Sreedharan to join BJP

Ahead of the upcoming assembly polls, the prospects of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in Kerala got a big boost with Metro Man E Sreedharan all set to join the party. Announcing this, BJP state president K Surendran said that Sreedharan “will attend the ‘Vijaya Yatra’ where he will officially join the BJP.” There is news that the BJP parliamentary committee is interested in fielding Sreedharan as a candidate I the assembly polls.
Considered as the man who changed the image of public transport in India, Palakkad native E Sreedharan has been instrumental in the restoration of damaged Pamban Bridge in 46 days and has played a big role in the Metro project in Delhi, Kolkata and Kochi as well as the Konkan Railway. A Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri winner, he has also received the Legion of Honour, the highest French order of merit.
