The World Federation for Mental Health took the initiative of World Mental Health Day, 25 years ago, to make this world a mentally healthier place. This year’s theme set by the federation is Mental Health At Workplace.

We all know that whole of our life is spent in learning and earning. At every point of life, we face new problems and pressure and conquer them. It’s a never ending cycle but that’s what life is all about.

While we take immense care of our physical body and daily day life by doing various things, we always ignore our mental health. Sometimes we fail to realize that we are suffering mentally and it leads to negative impact on our creativity and productivity. In one way or another we all deal with problems and pressures.

There are subtle things which need our attention.  A little change in your lifestyle and thought process can do huge things. Our mind takes care of every little thing of us, and now it’s time to start paying it back to make it healthier.

For an initiative, you should start doing physical exercise to release your stress. Only a mind with positive thoughts can do positive things. Surround yourself with positive people and carry positive thoughts.

A healthy lifestyle is doorway to healthy mind. Stop being a robot and start doing new things. Go for travel, eat healthy food, experience new things, and take time out for your loved ones. Further, never hesitate to talk about your problems with your family or friends, ask for help when you feel the need.

You can prevent mental diseases by making slight changes in eating habits. Your mental health also depends on what you eat. Push yourself towards the green vegetables and fruits. Walnuts are the best you can have as these are the richest source of omega-3 fatty acids. Walnuts support the brain function and reduce the symptoms of depression and mental illness. You should add Dark Leafy Greens, Avocado, Berries, Beans and Mushrooms to your daily meals for the good mental health.

The other side of the story is that we have to open up more with each other and talk about the mental health and help each other in every way possible. Mental health can be cured only with love and a blend of care.
