Mumbai gets its longest art mural
Around 3,000 Mumbaikars from all walks of life got together and participated in creating the longest art mural. This initiative was a part of Mumbai Metro One’s annual art festival, Majhi Metro, with a host of activities like painting, poetry and photography and lots of innovation to showcase the artist’s vibes and thoughts in interesting ways.
This year’s theme, Art in Motion, aims for higher community reach through community wall art project, one of the largest single art walls which measures measuring over 4,000 sq ft. It is turning out to be as a canvas to create nations one of the largest crowd sourced mural with around 3000 participants. The wall will depict a version of Majhi Metro Art Train.
The activity to paint the wall, near DN Nagar Metro Station, Andheri West, was done under the supervision of seven artists.
“Mumbai Metro One is not just a transport system but a paradigm shift for Mumbaikars. Majhi Metro festival has helped us resonate our vision with commuters and Mumbaikars alike. Every year we introduce something new either in a form of artform or an innovation to take this Festival to a new level. The objective is to bring art to masses and celebrate art at public platforms,” shared the Mumbai Metro One spokesperson.
