Travomint halts ticketing for Turkish and Azerbaijani airlines
Team L&M
In response to the escalating geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, travel agency Travomint has taken the proactive step of suspending all flight tickets for Turkish Airlines, Corendon Airlines, and Azerbaijan Airlines. This announcement was made after knowing a huge development in the story surrounding Turkey and Azerbaijan’s having extended diplomatic and possibly military support to Pakistan amid its growing conflict with India. This decision is final and will remain unchanged regardless of any future developments. Going forward, Travomint will not engage in any partnerships with entities from these countries.
This bold step isn’t just about the business, it prioritises safety and security of passengers, crew, and partners. Travomint firmly believes that national interest must take precedence over commercial operations. When the country’s security, dignity, and stability are at stake, we must stand united and resolute — neutrality is simply not an option.
‘’We will not remain silent when our national interests and security are at stake on the global scale,’’ asserts Alok Kumar Singh, Chairman and CEO at Travomint. We are a proud Indian OTA, and our responsibility and duties lie first with the nation and its people. This is not a boycott — it marks a separation from those who choose silence and do not stand with us in this time of uncertainty.’’
Travomint believes that the air travel industry is a huge and global industry. However, when such geopolitical tensions escalate, then patriotism must be practised. By implementing this unwavering action, Travomint assures its ethical commitment to national needs and interests and the trust and sentiments of citizens of India.
The airlines affected by this suspension include:
Turkish Airlines – National carrier of Turkey
Pegasus Airlines – Major Turkish low-cost carrier
Corendon Airlines – Leisure-focused airline based in Turkey
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) – Flag carrier of Azerbaijan
“Words need to be put into action at the time of crisis. We stand with each Indian citizen — with our armed forces, with our families, with our democracy,” Mr. Singh said. “Now more than ever, unity, clarity, and courage are required. We at Travomint stand united and proud to contribute our part.”
