India Tourism Development Corporation Signs MoU with Moroccan Tourism Agency to Boost Global Tourism Collaboration

To strengthen cooperation in tourism, India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has signed a strategic MoU with the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT), an autonomous organisation under Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism.

This MoU marks a significant step in strengthening the historical, economic, and cultural ties between India and Morocco. The collaboration aims to enhance bilateral tourism development, promote investment opportunities, and share expertise in innovative tourism product creation.

Under the agreement, ITDC and SMIT will collaborate on:

• Sharing expertise in engineering and tourism product development.
• Exploring new trends and technology in tourism and hospitality.
• Conducting marketing and feasibility studies to meet investor and tourist expectations.
• Structuring tourism infrastructure projects and sharing databases of potential investors.
• Jointly promoting tourism investment opportunities through events, economic missions, and co-organized promotional initiatives.

The MoU was signed at The Ashok, New Delhi. Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons and Moroccan Minister Mohammed Sajid attended the ceremony. ITDC C&MD Ravneet Kaur and SMIT Chairman Imad Barrakad executed the agreement. Senior officials from both organisations and the Ministry of Tourism were also present.

This collaboration will create new avenues for tourism investment and cultural exchange. It will enhance bilateral cooperation between India and Morocco. The partnership positions both nations as key players in global tourism development.
