It was almost a month back that a joint committee of Parliament comprising 20 members from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha and led by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi issued summons to Twitter. The summons sought an explanation in form of an affidavit from Twitter, taking strong exception to the “misrepresentation” of India’s map by geo-tagging Ladakh as part of China.
The micro-blogging platform has apparently sent a letter to the panel’s chairperson wherein it has apologised to the parliamentary panel and stated that it will fix the issue of geo-tagging Ladakh as part of China by the end of this month and Ladakh will be added as a region administered by India as a union territory.
