Edutech platform Nrichminds.com, which publishes content across subjects like math, science, geography, history, computing, politics and economics, has launched an app named NRICH. An easy-to-access app with handy video links and research references, NRICH also provides a glossary of terms in each article that helps improve reading comprehension and increases one’s vocabulary.
The app is free and is available on both iOS and Android platforms. Currently, it is only available in English, but soon it will be available in multiple Indian languages. The app promotes “six steps to discovery” to analyse real word problems. These six steps are: connect, wonder, Investigate, construct, express, and reflect. It offers an active poll on a pertinent question of debate based on the article and readers can vote and see how the overall community of readers is voting on the topic. In this way it works towards enhancing critical thinking and logical reasoning skills in young children, which should be the ultimate aim of education.
For way too long, early “education” has been defined too narrowly, thus promoting a way of thinking that is only about exams and test scores rather than being valuable for out-of-classroom contexts and purposes.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of our app for young minds, the future citizens of the 21st century, who ought to think critically and come up with solutions for the challenges of the 21st century to sustain life and humanity. The free app is a small contribution of Nrichminds.com to ignite the change in our future generations,” says Anuradha Uboweja, Country Head-India, Nrichminds.com.
“We believe the future belongs to thinkers; we only need to ask our children the right questions and present them with the right facts. Problems like climate change, global warming, and global hunger can only be solved by our children if we allow them the freedom to explore and expand moonshot ideas. And that is exactly what NRICH aims to do,” says nrichminds.com CEO & MD Nax Reddy, adding that this is their way of equipping children for the real world and its challenges,
