The Hyderabad-based Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) has launched a revolutionary digital tool for women’s health—the ABC of Breast Health app, the first app in the world dedicated exclusively to breast health. Available in 12 Indian languages—English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, and Assamese—this app empowers users with comprehensive knowledge about breast care and cancer prevention.

Developed by oncologist Dr. Raghu Ram, CEO of UBCF and President of the Association of Breast Surgeons of India, the app provides accessible information on breast health, early detection of breast cancer, and busting common myths. Breast cancer, a lifestyle disease, is curable if detected early, yet many cases become fatal due to lack of awareness and prevalent misconceptions.

The app features a dedicated “Myths and Facts” section, which debunks widespread misinformation about breast health, while daily notifications keep users informed and engaged. Available on both iOS and Android, the app can be downloaded for free from Google Play and Apple Store.

During the launch, filmstar Amitabh Bachchan highlighted the importance of digital healthcare, stating, “The opportunity to raise quality of life and healthcare through digitalisation is on the cusp of a third wave of IT adoption. Understanding what patients want from digital healthcare and delivering it effectively is vital.”

UBCF has also proposed to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to integrate the app into the government’s health portal, aiming to expand awareness at a national level. This initiative makes breast health guidance accessible, accurate, and culturally relevant to women across India.

With the ABC of Breast Health app, women can now take charge of their breast health, learn about early warning signs, and make informed decisions for prevention and timely medical care.
