Boston Scientific opens R&D centre in Pune, its second facility in India

With an aim to capitalise on the country’s R&D expertise and providing diverse opportunities for engineers and innovators, Boston Scientific Corporation has set up its second state-of-the-art R&D Center, in Pune. Spread across 45000 square feet, it is equipped with an array of sophisticated medical equipment and simulators to facilitate the R&D process and build more R&D capacity.
It will provide expertise to all of the company’s diverse therapy areas, namely Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Interventions, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Endoscopy, Neuromodulation, and Urology and Pelvic Health. The R&D team in Pune will provide complete 360-degree support in areas of mechanical design and analysis, software engineering, sustaining engineering, quality, and compliance.
Boston Scientific is a US-based medical device company and a leading innovator of less invasive medical solutions. It established its first India R&D Center in Gurugram in 2014, and since then it has contributed to more than 100 patent filings and innovation ideas.
