Angad Bedi on Real Estate Growth, BCD Group & Senior Living in India

Born and raised in Delhi, Angad Bedi is a third-generation businessman. However, he did not begin his career in the real estate industry.
“After completing my CA course, I started working with PwC and later moved to KPMG. But I always had a strong passion for real estate, which guided my career trajectory and made me join my family-owned construction company,” he says.
That was 17 years ago. Today, as Managing Director of the BCD Group, Bedi leads business strategy and growth in the dynamic real estate sector in India. In an interview with Life & More, he shares insights on his journey, business, and future plans.
How and when did you decide to join BCD Construction Company?
The decision was entirely mine. I was always fascinated by the real estate and construction sector. After completing my CA, I joined BCD and eventually moved to Bengaluru.
It has been a roller-coaster journey. We pioneered the senior rental housing model and are now launching quality student housing. Then, we expanded across Tier-II markets and built a strong presence in global markets like Dubai, Bahrain, and Vietnam. Further, we have also launched a SEBI-regulated fund with Nisus to revive distressed assets. Additionally, we are introducing an ultra-luxury project near the Bengaluru airport called Jasmine.
What innovations have you introduced?
We have focused on redefining construction practices in India and introducing new housing concepts.
With BCD Vanaprastha, we launched India’s first rental accommodation for seniors. We also built a strong international network and partnered with a German company to modernise construction practices in India.
Tell us about your turnkey projects and Vanaprastha.
Located in Hoskote, Bengaluru, Vanaprastha is a nine-acre township with nearly 300 units. It offers affordable senior living without compromising on amenities.
The project includes:
- Recreational centres
- Yoga and meditation rooms
- Fitness centres
- 24/7 medical services
It is well-connected to key commercial and educational hubs. The project is ISO certified and has a AAA platinum building rating.
Vanaprastha also integrates sustainable real estate features such as:
- Solar-powered systems
- Rainwater treatment plants
- Green open spaces
- Well-ventilated homes
With an investment of ₹200 crore, BCD Group plans to expand this concept to Chennai and Delhi NCR, aiming to redefine senior living in India.
Tell us about your notable projects.
Our portfolio spans residential, commercial, and industrial real estate projects. These include luxury homes, Grade A corporate assets, and infrastructure developments.
Key projects include an oil refinery, an IT park in Chennai, Delta Electronics project, Ongoing projects in NCR, Developments for Koncept, Maia Group, Century, and Ozone, Our award-winning affordable and senior living project Emprasa.
How do you handle differences in a family business?
Initially, it was a family-run business. When I joined, the company was almost defunct. Today, it is managed by me and my wife, Jasna Bedi, who is also a Director at BCD Group.
How do you balance work and family?
Balancing work, travel, and family is challenging. I try to give equal importance to all aspects of life.
I unwind through hobbies, and weekends are reserved for my family. Maintaining this balance supports both personal growth and business success.
What are your hobbies?
I am an avid golfer and enjoy equestrian sports. Also, I am a national-level horse rider, which has taught me discipline and empathy. Further, I enjoy travelling, exploring new cultures, and watching movies. I value my roles as a husband and father deeply.
What are your upcoming projects?
BCD Group has expanded globally, especially in the Middle East, including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
We plan to develop nearly 9 million square feet of real estate in India, focusing on residential projects like BCD Royal and our flagship project, BCD Jasmine.
Designed to international standards, BCD Jasmine aims to redefine luxury real estate in India at affordable prices.
We are also launching an innovative education campus for global students, combining education and real estate development.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I aim to diversify into multiple industries. We are optimistic about our investment funds and future growth.
In the next decade, I envision BCD Group becoming one of the top real estate companies in India and globally.
