7th edition of Home Expo inaugurated

The seventh edition of Home Expo India 2018, the three-in-one exhibition comprising housewares and decorative, furnishings, floorings and textiles and furniture and accessories, was inaugurated by Union Minister of Textiles and Information & Broadcasting Smriti Zubin Irani on April 17.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that her association with EPCH as Minister of Textiles has always remained fruitful and productive. She applauded EPCH for always taking new initiatives for the promotion and development of the handicrafts sector, be it to enhance design capacity of India, business basis across the world or strengthening the quality of product.
Ms Irani further said that organising product-specific Home Expo India exhibition, covering three promising products segments of handicraft sector viz. houseware and decorative, floorings, furnishing and textiles and furniture and accessories is a step in the right direction to enable buyers to source their requirements without wasting time, energy and resources.
EPCH chairman OP Prahladka, EPCH vice chairmen Ravi K Passi and Sagar Mehta, FDCI president Sunil Sethi, EPCH executive director Rakesh Kumar and members of committee of administration were present during the inauguration ceremony.
EPCH chairman said EPCH has ensured that select exhibitors display premium products to very thoughtfully invited overseas buyers so that the best and exquisite products are on display for the best of people in the world. EPCH executive director Rakesh Kumar added that organising product-specific show on home and life products was the need of the hour when EPCH organised the first Home Expo India 2012 as buyers started preferring to visit product-based exhibitions rather than all product categories shows to save their time and money.
A large number of buyers from both traditional as well as emerging markets which includes markets of USA, European Union, Latin America, Middle east and South east Asia are visiting to source their requirement from the show covers segments with maximum thrust and growth potential for Indian handicraft exporters who present a wide range of colourful handicraft items in home décor, furnishing, furniture, flooring and textiles.
