NutriParadise Foods: Bengaluru-Based Nutraceutical Startup Revolutionizing Hospital Diets

Team L&M

NutriParadise Foods, a Bengaluru-based B2B nutraceutical startup, is transforming hospital nutrition in India. Launched last year and incubated by the prestigious Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), the company specializes in therapeutic diets using natural ingredients for patients with conditions like diabetes, renal failure, and pregnancy-related nutritional needs.

Innovative Products for Patient-Centric Nutrition

NutriParadise Foods offers a range of functional and therapeutic foods, including:

  • Kichdi for diabetic patients
  • ProPotion, a health drink for general patients
  • Omega-3 chutney powder for pregnant women and regular patients

Soups and smoothies are also in the pipeline as part of the company’s plan to expand its hospital-based nutraceutical offerings.

Founder’s Vision: Bridging the Hospital Nutrition Gap

Founder Vijaysurya shares his inspiration:

“During my internship at a hospital in Germany, I observed patients’ awareness about their diet and nutrition. In India, hospital meals are largely overlooked, and doctors focus on medicines rather than diet. I realized there was a huge gap to address, which led to the founding of NutriParadise Foods.”

The idea began as a college project in 2012, followed by research on global trends in 2013. The company was incorporated in 2015, started hospital sales in 2016, and gained CFTRI incubation in 2017 to accelerate research and product development.

Expertise in Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods

Vijaysurya’s background in medicinal plants and herbs, combined with hands-on experience in hospital dietary services, laid the foundation for NutriParadise. The company’s team includes experts proficient in nutraceuticals, functional foods, and therapeutic diets, ensuring each product meets clinical nutrition standards.

B2B Model: Focus on Hospital Partnerships

NutriParadise Foods follows a B2B business model, supplying products exclusively to partnered hospitals such as BIG Hospital, Excel Care, SHRC, Diwakar’s, and Sagar Chandramma.

“We conduct focus groups with doctors and dieticians before formulating products, so hospitals adopt them without requiring a sales pitch,” Vijaysurya explains.

Nationwide Expansion and Future Plans

NutriParadise Foods plans a phase-wise product launch targeting five major disease conditions, with a PAN India rollout within 16 months. The company is also exploring collaborations with research institutions to develop futuristic nutraceutical solutions.

Role of CFTRI in Research and Development

CFTRI provides world-class research facilities, mentorship, and technical guidance, significantly reducing product development timelines. This partnership ensures NutriParadise Foods can innovate rapidly in therapeutic and functional diets.

Vision for the Future

NutriParadise Foods aims to transform hospital cafeterias and patient diets, offering nutritious, convenient, and functional foods that aid recovery and disease prevention. With a strong emphasis on therapeutic nutrition, the startup is set to redefine hospital food services across India.
