Team L&M
In an effort to improve access to cardiac care, Heartnet India, an IoT-based initiative focused on enhancing cardiac healthcare, launched – Hridaya, a Women’s Cardiac Health initiative on International Women’s Day (March 8) in Moyna, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. This initiative aligns with Heartnet India’s commitment to reaching underserved communities and addressing the need for improved cardiac health among women. Supported by ASHA workers, doctors, and technicians, the drive focused on raising awareness and providing essential cardiac health screenings and services.
The Hridaya initiative focuses on reaching women in rural India, with expert doctors leading a team of 200, including Asha workers, doctors, and technicians. On the first day in Moyna, Heartnet India, in collaboration with BKR Clinic and Diagnostic Center, introduced women, local doctors, and Asha workers to remote teleconsultation and monitoring. They were familiarized with Heartnet India’s IoT-enabled devices for real-time heart health tracking, including advanced ECG monitoring, to enhance cardiac care across India. They also experienced how the AI-powered cloud platform securely stores patient data, offers instant access, and provides predictive insights.
Heartnet India’s innovative tech- enabled solutions will enable faster and more accurate diagnoses while supporting and expanding the reach of doctors and ASHA workers, improving cardiac treatment for women in rural areas with limited healthcare access.
Dr. Shantanu Maity, Consultant Gynaecologist, says, “Healthcare in rural and underserved areas of India continues to face challenges due to limited access to healthcare professionals, medical devices, and resources. Heartnet India’s innovative solutions have the potential to significantly improve healthcare delivery, especially for women suffering from cardiovascular diseases. By providing remote access to healthcare, including real-time monitoring and teleconsultations with doctors and cardiologists based in urban centers, we can make a meaningful impact in reaching more people.”
Arindam Sen, CEO & Director of Heartnet India, stated, “At Heartnet India, our commitment is to expand access to cardiac care solutions across rural India with Hridaya, beginning with West Bengal. We aim to extend our reach to more states in the near future. While we firmly believe in the transformative power of technology in Indian healthcare, we also recognize that expert doctors remain essential. Hence, our innovative IoT-based solutions combine these elements, bridging the healthcare gap and ensuring quality care for women in rural areas.”
Heartnet India’s Women’s Cardiac Health initiative – Hridaya, is set to run until March 21st, with plans to cover more areas and support women managing heart-related health concerns.
