The first edition of Agra Music Festival is all set to enthrall the music lovers. The fest is being organized by the Round Table India Foundation in association with the Architect Association of Agra onย February 25, 2017ย at Hotel Ramada Plaza Agra. Significantly, Ministry of Tourism is supporting Round Table India Foundation in this novel initiative. Included among the performers at the fest is noted Rajasthani musician Kutle Khan and his team, playback singer Aditi Singh Sharma, Indi-Rock band Bandish from Delhi. Playback singer Kaustav Songman will host the grand festival.
The Agra Music Festival is being organised with an aim to restore and promote the long lost Agra musical heritage around the globe. โAgra is famous for legends of music like Tansen and Nauhar Bani, but the city lost its musical charm as the time passed. We plan to bring that charm back,โ says festival curator D K Singh.
โHenceforth, we will make it an annual event to promote Agra as Music Destination around the world. We expect an audience of over 2,000 at this event,โ he adds.
Talking about his vision for Agra Music Festival in coming years, Mr. DK Singh further added, โNext year, we plan to make it one of the biggest musical events in the country by inviting more than 30 international bands to come and perform on four grand stages. It will be a two-day long event and we plan to organise it on the 100 acres of land on Taj Express Highway. In next edition of Agra Music Festival we will have all forms of music including classical, sufi, kajri, thumri, quwali, bhajan, folk and many more.โ
โAlong with promoting the musical heritage of the city, the festival also aims at promoting the welfare of underprivileged kids of the city. All the funds raised by the festival will be used to build classrooms for these children,โ informs Mr. Ashish Gupta, Chairman Round Table India Foundation (North India).
