On Bihar Diwas (March 22), the Bihar Museum will host the maiden edition of Museum Biennale in the country. Organised by the Bihar government’s Department of Arts, Culture and Youth Affairs, the inauguration will be held at the Bihar museum premises in Patna in a new hybrid avatar.
The aim of the Biennale is to sensitise the masses on the importance and significance of museum culture in India and facilitate an understanding of culture, build a strong sense of identity, nationhood and the self.
The Biennale will bring together a showcase of key collections from various museums across India like Assam State Museum, Guwahati; Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sanghralaya, Bhopal; Kiran Nadar Museum, New Delhi; Museum of Goa, Panaji; Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad; Virasat-i-Khalsa, Anandpur Sahib and more.
The virtual event, Bihar Museum Biennale will end March 28. A two-day virtual conference, masterclass and talks, will also be held and witness the participation of personalities like Neil MacGregor, Hilary Knight, Dr Souraya Noujaim, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Javier Baron among others.
