Hands of Gold: Bringing Authentic Kashmiri Crafts, Pashmina and Flavours to the World

Located at Skyview by Empyrean in Patnitop, Hands of Gold is a heartfelt tribute to Kashmir. The brand brings authentic products—from traditional crafts and apparel to gourmet food items—directly from the Valley to customers across India and beyond.
When and how did the idea of Hands of Gold begin?
Hands of Gold initially started with paper mache products. However, I realised that the finest quality paper mache was not available in the local markets. This led me to seek out skilled karigars (artisans) across Kashmir.
After extensive effort, I collaborated with some of the finest artisans in the region. The aim was to showcase the best of Kashmiri craftsmanship to the world. Gradually, we expanded into other art forms such as tilla work, pashmina, and a curated range of gourmet edibles.

What sort of investment went into building Hands of Gold?
The biggest investment for Hands of Gold has been our karigars. Their skill, dedication, and willingness to innovate have been invaluable.
We started small, catering to limited orders, but over time, our capabilities and reach have expanded significantly.
What does “bespoke beauty of Kashmir” mean to you?
At Hands of Gold, the “bespoke beauty of Kashmir” represents products that carry the soul of Kashmir—its heritage, traditions, craftsmanship, and legacy.
This is reflected in intricate designs, rich flavours, and uncompromising quality. Each product is carefully crafted to offer an authentic and premium experience.
What products are available and how are they priced?
We offer a diverse range of products including:
- Natural honey in multiple flavours
- Premix Kashmiri kahwa
- 100% pure saffron
- Paper mache artefacts
- Pashmina stoles and scarves
All our edible products are natural, preservative-free, and sourced directly. Our handcrafted items are made using traditional techniques.
We do not focus on competing through pricing; instead, our priority is delivering unmatched quality and authenticity.
Why focus on bespoke products instead of mass e-commerce?
We consciously avoid mass production as it often compromises quality and craftsmanship. Our bespoke approach ensures that every product meets the highest standards.
This philosophy allows us to deliver truly authentic Kashmiri products to our customers.

Do you have retail outlets or expansion plans?
Currently, we operate a retail store at Skyview by Empyrean in Sanget Valley, Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. Our products are also available online.
While we had plans to expand retail presence, the pandemic temporarily slowed those plans. However, expansion remains a key focus area.
Are there plans to expand internationally?
Yes, we are already exporting select products such as paper mache items and pashmina stoles. The global market holds immense potential, and we are actively exploring opportunities for international growth.

What are your future business plans?
We are working on exciting collaborations to reach a wider audience. Additionally, we are in the process of launching a new range of skincare products inspired by Kashmiri traditions.
Our long-term vision is to continue promoting Kashmiri artisans and bringing their craftsmanship to a global platform.
