 Tenth National Science Film Festival takes off virtually

As a part of its science popularisation endeavour, VigyanPrasar has been organising a science film festival. The autonomous agency under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India kicked off the 10th edition of the prestigious film festival in virtual mode due to Covid-19. The festival offers a unique platform to showcase science films made by professionals, amateurs and student filmmakers under different themes. A total of 372 films in different languages ​​have been received for participation of which 115 shortlisted films selected by the 10-member jury will be screened during the festival. These include films in Hindi, English, Urdu, Malayalam, Kashmiri, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Tamil languages. The four-day long film festival (November 24-27, 2020) is being jointly organised by Vigyan Prasar with Tripura State Council of Science and Technology, Government of Tripura. The names of outstanding science films to be awarded will be announced on November 27.
