Abhimanyu Dassani in next Netflix rom-com

He made his onscreen debut in 2019-released Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota after assisting filmmaker Rohan Sippy in Dum Maro Dum (2011) and Nautanki Sala (2013). And now, Abhimanyu Dassani is all set to play a South Indian in the upcoming Netflix movie, Meenakshi Sundareshwar.

Directed by Vivek Soni, Meenakshi Sundareshwar has been produced by the digital wing of Dharma Productions, Dharmatic Entertainment. The rom-com, set in Madurai, highlights the challenges faced by a young South Indian couple along with the struggles and issues of a long-distance marriage.

The first look of the movie released Wednesday shows Sanya is draped in a yellow and red sari with traditional gold jewellery while Abhimanyu looks a typical South Indian groom in a white shirt and dhoti. The two can be seen holding a sacred cloth used to keep the bride and groom together during the pheras.
