A Mind Empowerment workshop for Teachers was held at Maharaja Agrasen Model School, Pitampura yesterday, May 27 by Motivational Speaker Ashwani Kumar Sharma. The workshop was organised by 6to16, the education wing of Life & More in association with HT Pace.
Addressing the teachers, Sharma highlighted that teacher empowerment is that vital tool which is often used to describe the extent to which teachers are given a voice in decision-making processes related to teaching and learning in their schools. “But, in actuality teacher empowerment should actually be seen as a process whereby school participants could develop their competence to take charge of their own growth and resolve their own problems considering all pros and cons,” he said.
He also discussed that empowerment of teachers involves providing opportunities for teachers to engage in power structures, develop autonomy, and foster a sense of responsibility in their schools and this concept of teacher empowerment actually arose from reform and school improvement efforts.
