A workshop on creative writing was held at Rukmini Devi Public School, Sector 4 Rohini, Delhi. It was organized by 6to16, the education wing of Life &More in association with HT Pace. The workshop Resource Person Upasana Kaura conducted two activities wherein children were told to weave a story around certain given points. Kaura also gave children some words which should they had to use while making a story. Kids were told to make their own story and give a conclusion to it.
Prior to this, she also gave children tips on how they can enhance their creativity, and motivated them all to come up with their own ideas. “You all must always remain active for that is how you can create a creative corner in your mind,” she remarked.
Kaura also gave a power point presentation showing how different people have different perspectives about situations in life much to the amusement of kids, who got totally engrossed in the session. They were totally involved in the activity and generated ideas enthusiastically to compile a story based on the given pointers.
In the second activity, the Resource Person showed a picture to children around which they had to weave a story. Children enjoyed this activity, happily creating their own stories.
This was followed by a Question-Answer session wherein children raised queries around the usage of specific words, which were successfully answered by the speaker. The children got a fair knowledge about writing a composition whether it’s a story, paragraph or any other piece of composition based on creative ideas.
The session concluded with a song sung by the children which acted as a morale for all to work upon self to improve own abilities.
