Explaining the importance of clean air, he remarked that it is not just air pollution but all kinds of other factors that pollute our environment that should be kept under check. He advised the students to use paper or cloth bags and shun the plastic bags. “Also, encourage your family members to use cloth bags. The use of plastic, including the single use plastic, should also be discouraged to the maximum extent,” he said, adding that both single use and multiple use plastic goes thru the same process of recycling and creates pollution.

Students actively participated in the interactive sessions, raising queries enthusiastically which the speaker answered. “Learning not to use the plastic bags from the student age will cement your beliefs and you will then be conscious and conscientious about your contribution to the society and environment,” said Sharma.

The session ended with the entire gathering taking a pledge to not to use any kind of plastic, and actively work towards keeping environment clean.
