“The FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) report is positive. Your wife has cancer.”
Years later, I still remember how those words were delivered to us at Holy Family Hospital in 2006—with unsettling ease. Perhaps it was professional detachment. But what followed in the months and years ahead restored our faith in the doctor-patient bond, thanks to the compassionate doctors who stood by us through the journey.
A Diagnosis That Changes Everything
When I recently read about Sonali Bendre being diagnosed with cancer, it took me back to those difficult days.
After sending our seven-year-old daughter to school and feeding our 14-month-old baby, my wife and I would head to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital for treatment. What followed was a long and exhausting journey—surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and endless follow-ups over nearly two years.

Every cancer journey is a story of courage, faith, and perseverance. And as long as there is hope, there is always a way forward.

Amazingly explained in this write up … will power of the person can beat any diseases. I could relate my situation when we were told about our mother’s breast cancer at last stage. She fought against it with her will power and could defeat it successfully.
