The Dal captured through photos, poems and paintings

Even as Kashmir remains in the news for all the wrong reasons, the beauty of the region and its simple and gentle denizens, continues to inspire artists, painters, photographers and everyone who has a creative streak, lifting one’s heart to the divine in each of us. Sangeeta Gupta happens to be one among those who got inspired and captured the beauty of the Paradise on Earth through her book, EKAM: The Supreme One.
Sangeeta, when posted in Srinagar as principal commissioner, Income Tax, Jammu & Kashmir, captured the beauty of the lake as it kept changing with different seasons through photographs, poems and paintings as she returned from work in her shikara or walked on the banks of the Dal.
Recently, Prithvi Fine Art & Cultural Centre launched Sangeeta Gupta’s book, EKAM: The Supreme One, at a private event jointly organised with Ratan Kaul. The book was released by KL Ganju, Consul General (Hony) of the Republic of Union of the Comoros and also Consular Corps Diplomatique – India, Director – FICAC (AISBL), World Federation of Consuls).
Other guests present at the launch were writer-curator Sushma K Bahl, Australia New Zealand Association Delhi vice president Lorraine Young, South Asian Association for Gastronomy founder director Maneesh Baheti, The Luxury Chronicle CEO Neelima Agrawal, fashion designers Preeti Ghai and Shilpa Raina Wahal, Peter Stall, Geoffrey Lepps and many more. The canvases of her works are on display at Prithvi Gallery as part of her ongoing exhibition, Neel – Mysteries of Blue.
