“This book is an important historic documentation of 40 years of Alka’s work and it talks about an important art era. Many of the 26 art legends in the book have already left us for the heavenly abode but we are fortunate to have three legends from the book still with us – Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Balamurali Krishna and Krishen Khanna ji,” said Gawade.

Alka tirelessly worked on this book for years and after her demise Gawade took over the reins doing the page layout and cover design. “It is rare to have so many legends in a single book. These legends of art, music, dance and painting world share their treasures with the author which is priceless,” she added, thanking Sanjay Arya for publishing the book.
