This period of lockdown has been a blessing for my family and me. We have stayed together, had fun together, cooked together, prayed together… Something that had been amiss for some years now…
I have observed that, over these last few weeks, we all have become more spiritually inclined. Both, in the mornings and the evenings, we listen to bhajans, perform aarti and light a diya in the Puja room and also pray to God for the wellbeing of all Indians and citizens of the world.
Most of the time during the day is spent with the family, having long chat sessions and remembering various inland and foreign trips together, watching news occasionally to keep abreast with the latest happenings, especially one related with Covid-19 as well as loads of movies and shows on Netflix and Amazon.
One cannot thank YouTube and those wonderful recipes shared by food-lovers, cooks and even novices which has helped us create mouth-watering delicacies every day. The foodies that we are, it would have been difficult navigating through this long a period without yummilicious food. One must admit though that there have been a few minor glitches but luckily, there have been no burnt utensils or a fire in the kitchen.
We have all been ensuring to wash our hands for 20 seconds several times a day with a hand sanitiser. The door handles of all the rooms as the main door too are disinfected at regular intervals too.
My major problem during this period of lockdown has been the lock down of my drinks. As my quota had got over a few days back, I have to arrange it from friends in the neighbourhood. For how long will their quotas survive is anybody’s guess. We only hope and pray that everything gets normal and back on track as soon as possible.
