I come from a tea family. Not that my ancestors ever owned tea plantations in the Kangra hills of Himachal Pradesh but due to the reason my father worked with one of the most famous tea companies in the country, Brooke Bond India Ltd, for over three-and-a-half decades. Now, that is a long association. But then, however strange it may sound, I never ever had a penchant for the hot beverage.
On the contrary, I always enjoyed its more bitter cousin, coffee. To me, it has never mattered if my cup of coffee is hot or cold or black, latte, cappuccino, espresso, mocha… Also, whether it was readymade or had to be brewed. Or if it was Arabica or Robusta. Coffee, to me, meant C-O-F-F-E-E. The End.
So when one of my childhood friends (he too loves his coffee as I do) strongly recommended the recently launched Neuherbs Green Coffee Unroasted Arabica Coffee Beans, I had only one question for him: How is it different form others? And he had said, “The grains of this green coffee beans contain chlorogenic acid, a naturally occurring active compound that supports weight management goals along with planned diet and exercise regime.”

Now this made sense. Nearly six months of WFH, courtesy Covid-19 scare, has resulted in the belly navigating a bit out of control and weight control by consuming one’s favourite drink seemed a boon. What’s more! Preparing it is not too difficult either – you can soak around 15 g in water for six to eight hours and then boil. After letting it brew, filter it and consume pre or post meals. One can add honey or cardamom for a better taste. And it is not too hard on the pocket — Neuherbs Green Coffee Unroasted Arabica Coffee Beans comes @ Rs 520 for 400 g. It surely is a steal.
