Hear the Silence, a solo exhibition of oil paintings by renowned artist Jyoti Nagpal, Professor (Hon.) Amity School of Fine Arts and Advisor, Amity Art Foundation is presently on at Bikaner House, New Delhi. The show was inaugurated by Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group, Life Trustee India International Centre & Former Governor Jammu & Kashmir NN Vohra, and President of the India International Centre & Former Foreign Secretary, GOI Shyam Saran.
“These are all beautiful artworks. Art refreshes our body , mind and soul and this exhibition has truly left us all mesmerised,” said Dr Chauhan, in his inaugural address.
Speaking about her artworks, Prof Nagpal says, “I have a deep fascination for dense foliage and its changing colors in different season, which to me are symbolic of the eternal cycle of life. This collection of Paintings is an attempt to portray the beauty of nature as I observe and perceive it. For me, nature represents movement, fulfilment, warmth, and harmony, which I have tried to depict through my artworks.”
“The artist has presented nature in a unique way through her paintings. There is a close relationship between nature and artist which only artist understands, and she has portrayed the beauty of nature in a wonderful way, through her paintings,” says Vohra.
Admiring the artworks on display, Ms. Sunita Bali, Design Consultant Ministry of Textiles, said, “These artworks reflect nature in its purest form. My heartfelt appreciation for Prof Nagpal for putting together this exquisite exhibition, which is truly a delight for all art enthusiasts.”
There are a total of 50 beautiful artworks in the show, some titled A Sunny Autumn Day, Winter Cover, Fall Foliage, Trout Stream, Edge of the Forest, Lily Pond, After the Rain and Quivering Anticipation.
Others present on the occasion were Ajay Chauhan, Trustee, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, Dr AK Nagpal, Hony. Chairman, Amity Pacific Forum, Dr Pradeep Joshi, Group Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University, senior faculty and HOIs of Amity University, teachers of Amity Schools, and art enthusiasts.
