The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has come up with two new inventions for better air, water and clean energy. These were introduced at the Platinum Jubilee Techno-Fest held at the India International Trade Fare (IITF) in New Delhi yesterday (November 20).
The two inventions are: a free-swimming Robot, Maya, and a domestic cook stove Neerdhur.
Maya is an autonomous underwater vehicle developed by CSIR in association with the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO). It is used for surveys of coastal areas and mapping salinity of water in reservoirs and dams.
Neerdhur is a multi-fuel domestic cook stove, developed by CSIR in collaboration with the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) for rural Indian households. It can be fuelled by cow dung cake, wood chips, wood logs and charcoal.
All those who want to see these latest scientific advancements in the field of ecology and environment as well as CSIR’s other initiatives and societal Interventions can visit Techno-Fest at the IITF. The fest will run till November 27.
