“Surgical pathology has done great wonders for early detection and treatment of cancer, especially hereditary cancers, like breast and ovarian cancer,” says Dr Shaikhali Barodawala, Head of the Department of Surgical Pathology and Integrated Oncopathology Division, GRL, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd, Mumbai. He informs that 20 per cent of medical students are opting for specialisation in this field as of now as compared to only five per cent some years back.
“India s is second to none so far as treatment facilities and after care of patients is concerned, and that is the reason the country has become a hub of medical tourism, he says.
The doctor suggest following a healthy lifestyle, and consuming home-cooked food is must for keeping oneself healthy and fit.
