Breaking the norms of bringing known Bollywood faces on ramp; for the very first time in India a specially-abled Ukranian model Alexandra Kutas embraced the ramp at India Runway Week Winter Festive 2017 organised by the Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD).
Alexandra Kutas graced the ramp as a showstopper for the designers Nikheil & Rivendra’s winter/festive collection ‘Vintage Vibes’ at India Runway Week Winter Festive 2017. The audience broke out into a loud cheer as Alexandra was escorted onstage by designers Nikheil and Rivendra at India Runway Week.
Alexandra Kutas, 23, has been suffering from a spinal cord injury since birth and is paralysed from the waist down. But her disability, plus a few other setbacks that she suffered in her life didn’t stop her from pursuing her dreams. She is now a successful runway model.
The model was dressed in a lovely midnight blue dress by the designers. Her courage & perseverance certainly inspire a lot of people with disabilities not to stop on their way to their dream.
“We feel honoured to have Alexandra on IRW. It is really important for all of us who represent an industry (specifically fashion) to bring forth all such talent without any bias. Fashion is a powerful tool that communicates vision for the sustainable development,” said Avinash Pathania, Director, IFFD.
India Runway Week is among the top three fashion week platform of India and it’s a biannual trade event which is held especially for young emerging fashion designers in New Delhi, India with Summer Edition and Winter Festive editions in a year.
