Safed Aak – Calotropis
Safed Aak is one of the most sacred plants in Hinduism, often used in the worship of Lord Shiva. But other than in the mainstream religious activities, it is also used in the Tantra vidya prolifically.
Safe Aak is a large shrub growing which has clusters of waxy flowers that are either white or lavender in colour.
Extracts of plant parts such as root, stem, and leaf affect germination and seedling vigour of many agricultural crops.
In Ayurveda its root and leaf is used for bacterial infection, swelling with redness, baltod also and shortness of breath and the bark in liver and spleen diseases. The plant is reported as effective in treating skin, digestive, respiratory, circulatory and neurological disorders and was used to treat fevers, elephantiasis, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
