Making Diwali special for the underprivileged
To brighten up the festive season for commercial sex workers and their families, daily wagers, the elderly, the abandoned and destitute communities, Wishes and Blessings has initiated a unique campaign #WBTyoharkaTohfa.
Under this festive initiative, 500 underprivileged families across Delhi-NCR, Jharkhand and West Bengal received ration kits as well as a special box of sweets to make the festive season sweeter and happier. Wishes and Blessings has organised distribution drives for four days beginning from November 8 in Delhi, Gurugram, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and rural areas and villages near Asansol (West Bengal).
Each kit contains enough provisions to feed a family of five for 10 days and includes rice, dal, oil, soap, atta, soya, spices, masks and a box of sweets. The contents not only ensure the health and wellbeing of these families, but will also bring rays of hope and light on an otherwise gloomy situation.
